The whole Citrus Peel drink is a simple, food-based way of supporting digestion, bowel function, antioxidant protection and the body’s normal detoxification pathways. Citrus peel contains pectin, aromatic oils such as d-limonene, and a wide range of flavonoids that are present in much greater concentrations in the peel than in the juice. This is not intended to force detoxification. It is a gentle daily practice that supports nourishment and elimination while the wider programme rebuilds mineral balance and cellular energy.

Preferably freeze a whole lemon and then allow it to defrost. Freezing helps break open the plant cells and release more of the useful compounds from the peel. Cut the entire lemon into pieces, including the peel, flesh and seeds, and place it in a large jug or teapot. Add a few slices of fresh ginger and, if desired, dandelion and milk thistle tea, green tea, turmeric, fresh garden herbs and a little Manuka honey. Pour over boiling water and leave the mixture to infuse overnight.
Once the drink has cooled, add one level teaspoon of C-Aspa, also labelled C Ascorbate with Aspartates for each day’s supply contained in the jug. C-Aspa provides buffered vitamin C together with magnesium, zinc, selenium, manganese and potassium. Also add approximately one teaspoon or capful of New Zealand Pure Fulvic Practitioner Strength for each day’s supply. If preferred, these products can be added separately to the morning glass rather than to the full jug.
Citrus peel contains valuable pectin, aromatic oils and flavonoids in concentrations far greater than those found in the juice alone.
Dilute the concentrate with water according to taste and drink a glass first thing in the morning, or approximately 15 to 30 minutes before breakfast or the Super Smoothie. The finished drink should taste refreshing and pleasant. It should not be so strong or acidic that drinking it becomes an ordeal. Begin with a modest amount and increase gradually as tolerance becomes established.
Citrus pectin and fibre may support bowel regularity and the removal of substances carried into the digestive tract, while its flavonoids and aromatic compounds may support antioxidant protection and normal liver function. Fulvic acid provides trace-mineral and nutrient-transport support, while C-Aspa contributes vitamin C and selected minerals required by antioxidant enzymes and normal tissue repair. These ingredients work best as part of a well-nourished programme containing adequate protein, minerals, fluids and proper meals.
The finished Citrus Peel drink should be refreshing and pleasant, supporting the body each day rather than becoming another ordeal endured in the name of health.
If the drink causes reflux, abdominal discomfort, loose bowel motions or dental sensitivity, reduce the strength or quantity, or pause it temporarily. Because it is acidic, drink it quickly without holding it unnecessarily in the mouth, rinse the mouth with plain water afterwards and wait before brushing the teeth. Anyone with citrus allergy, significant reflux, kidney disease, medically restricted potassium intake or concerns about supplement interactions should obtain appropriate professional advice.

Medical disclaimer
The whole Citrus Peel drink is a food-based nutritional preparation intended to support normal digestion and elimination. It is not a treatment for poisoning, cancer, liver disease or any other medical condition, and it must not replace medical assessment or prescribed treatment.
Begin with a small, well-diluted serving and stop or reduce it if it causes reflux, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea, skin irritation, dental sensitivity or any other adverse reaction. Citrus peel should be washed thoroughly, preferably using unwaxed or organically grown fruit, and any mouldy or damaged fruit must be discarded.
Seek professional advice before use if you have a citrus allergy, significant reflux or stomach ulceration, gallbladder or kidney disease, medically restricted potassium intake, or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking prescription medicines. Grapefruit, Seville orange and some related citrus fruits can alter the metabolism of certain medicines, so these should not be included unless compatibility has been confirmed by a pharmacist or prescribing practitioner.
Because the drink is acidic, drink it quickly, then rinse the mouth with plain water afterwards and wait at least 30 minutes before brushing the teeth.
