The Freerangers Charter

A Blueprint for a Strong, Free, and Resilient New Zealand

Colorful parrot with wings spread sits above bold text "FREE RANGERS" and "New Zealand" on black background, evoking freedom and vibrancy.

Preamble

We are Freerangers. We believe in strong families, healthy land, open hearts, and free minds. We stand for courage, honesty, personal responsibility, and community resilience.

We honour our whakapapa and our bond with nature. We raise our children to be curious, capable, and confident. We live the freeranger way so that New Zealand remains the best place on Earth to grow, thrive, and pass on a better future.

This Charter sets out the principles we live by and the vision we work towards. It costs nothing to join us. What matters is action.

Join now by signing up for our free newsletter and weekly podcast. The website is now live, but there is more work to be done before we launch the movement proper:

If this message speaks to you, don’t just agree with it. Live it. Take your children or grandchildren for a walk in the bush this week. Grow one herb in a pot. Cook one proper meal from real food. Say hello to two strangers. Small, honest actions change a nation faster than slogans.

1. Freedom is Foundational

  • Every person has the right to think, speak, question, dissent, gather, worship, and live without censorship or coercion.

  • Bodily autonomy is absolute.

  • No authority, public or private, may override these freedoms.

2. Strong Families, Strong Nation

  • Parents are the primary guardians of their children. The State must support, not undermine, the family.

  • Children must be raised for resilience, not fragility.

  • Community begins in the home and radiates outward.

3. Health Begins with Nature

  • People must have the freedom to choose natural health approaches, real food, and preventive care.

  • Food should heal, strengthen, and sustain.

  • We support a GE-free, nutrient-rich, regenerative New Zealand.

4. Guardians of the Land

  • We are caretakers of the land, waters, forests, and wildlife.

  • We protect and restore the natural world for future generations.

  • Regenerative farming and ethical stewardship are non-negotiable.

5. Local First, Always

  • A strong nation begins with strong communities.

  • We support local growers, makers, and small businesses.

  • Neighbourhood resilience is national resilience.

6. Digital and Economic Freedom

  • People have the right to privacy and to opt out of centralised digital control systems.

  • The economy must serve the people, not overseas corporations.

  • No foreign monopoly should dictate New Zealand’s direction.

7. Energy Security and Affordability

  • New Zealand must maintain its own reliable, affordable, and sovereign energy systems.

  • Critical infrastructure such as refining, fuel storage, and electricity supply must remain under Kiwi control.

  • Energy must be accessible for households, farms, transport, and local enterprise.

8. A Peaceful, Neutral, and Independent Nation

  • New Zealand must stand as a nation of peace, fairness, and moral courage.

  • We should not be dragged into foreign conflicts or military blocs that compromise independence.

  • Our defence forces must protect New Zealand, support our Pacific neighbours, and act as peacekeepers when genuinely needed.

  • Neutrality, diplomacy, and honest mediation must guide our international role.

9. Accountability and Transparency

  • Government power must always be checked by public scrutiny.

  • Institutions must operate openly and without conflict of interest.

  • People must have the right to challenge authority and access justice.

10. The Right to Protect One’s Family

  • People have the natural right to defend their homes, families, and communities from unlawful harm.

  • This right sits at the heart of personal responsibility and community safety.

11. Sovereignty Belongs to the People

  • New Zealand’s sovereignty is not for sale or negotiation.

  • Major national decisions must be made by the people, not foreign interests or unaccountable institutions.

12. Duties of a Freeranger

  • Act with courage, humility, and decency.

  • Raise children who are strong in body, mind, and spirit.

  • Grow food, build community, and reconnect with nature.

  • Speak truthfully, even when it is unpopular.

  • Challenge unhealthy narratives and think for yourself.

  • Do good works that are higher than self.

  • Walk the talk, every day, in small practical ways.

Don’t wait for politicians to fix the country. We fix it ourselves, one action at a time. Spend more time outdoors. Support a local grower. Eat real food. Build resilience. Be courageous in conversation. Your example influences more people than you realise.

Our Vision

  • A healthy, thriving, sovereign New Zealand.

  • Families strong. Communities resilient.

  • Nature restored. Freedom protected.

  • Children outdoors, adventurous, and confident.

  • A nation that stands for peace, honesty, and independence.

  • A movement powered not by money, but by people who live the freeranger way.
