Why Does Super Smoothie Make Me "Tingle"?

I received this inquiry:

"Hi Gary, We just received your 'super smoothie’ as ordered. Yesterday and this morning I have made a smoothie with it and both mornings, within 30mins I have felt tingling/itchiness in my hands. This is most unusual and I never normally feel this. Yesterday I wondered if the moisturizer I put on my legs soon afterwards was the cause .. has it gone of???… but I’ve never had a reaction from it before. Yesterday it wore off after a couple of hours, approximately. Today (no moisturizer this time) I had the tingling/itchiness on the skin of my hands again, for 2 hours or so. Is this come kind of allergic reaction? I’m not allergic to anything I know of. Have you encountered this before? Is there one of the ingredients that can cause this? Should I reduce the amount I put in a smoothie?"

This is a normal reaction/response to one of the ingredients called beta-alanine. The response is explained here, along with the roles and functions of beta-alanine for health and fitness.

For those who want to dive deeper into the roles and functions of beta-alanine within the body, here is what I have written just for you:
