We're inviting you to an evening at the movies: "The Sea Decides"!

Updated: Mar 9

The Sea Decides

A film five years in the making – and which even included a contribution by the enigmatic film talent of Gary Moller himself, The Sea Decides is a documentary film about Kiwi adventurer Grant Rawlinson’s epic 12,000km attempt to travel all the way from Singapore to New Zealand entirely by Human Power.

Beginning on January 3 2017, Rawlinson’s journey took him on a world-first row from Singapore to Australia; then a cycle from Darwin to Coffs Harbour; before he attempted to become just the third person in history to row across the brutal and mighty Tasman Sea.

Did he make it? You’ll just have to come along with Gary and Alofa Moller, Director Alistar Harding and Grant Rawlinson himself at Wellington’s Roxy Cinema this Sunday the 20th of June at 6.30 pm for the film’s final performance at the Doc Edge Festival 2021.

It’s an extraordinary eye-witness and award-winning account of Rawlinson’s journey, and a story that will sometimes make you wince and wonder just how far you would go for your own dreams.
