About HTMA

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) identifies mineral deficiencies, excesses and toxicities.  HTMA is a powerful tool to help understand possible root causes of many chronic and age-related health issues, including poor athletic performance.

Which test do I order?

  • Unless your health professional has recommended another version, always order the HTMA Profile 2 as your first test and follow the report's recommendations for 4-6 months - no longer - then repeat the HTMA test.

  • As above: repeat the test after 4-6 months by ordering HTMA Profile 4 as your second or following test unless otherwise recommended by your health professional.

  • Upon placing your order, we will send detailed instructions about taking the hair sample and a special envelope for collecting the hair.

Send the sample and forms to us:

    Gary Moller
    15 Heaton Terrace, Brooklyn,
    Wellington, 6021

We will courier your sample to the USA. Expect your report within 1-2 weeks of us receiving your sample.

  • HTMA Profile 1 and HTMA Profile 3 are not recommended unless you have the input of a health professional with training and experience in interpreting HTMA laboratory testing and its application to the clinic.

  • With each report, we recommend adding the Personalised Diet Plan. The Diet Plan cannot be ordered independently; it is an addition to the HTMA.

  • After 4-6 months, repeat the HTMA using Profile 4.

  • Once you feel you have achieved your health goals and are steady, we recommend repeating HTMA Profile 4 every 1-2 years or whenever there has been a significant change in health or between athletic seasons.

HTMA Profile 1: Laboratory Mineral Test only

This profile represents the basic Multi-Element Laboratory Assay reporting the patient test results for macro and micro minerals, toxic metals and significant ratios. A chart is provided that identifies the patient information and graphically illustrates the test results. There is no interpretation provided with this profile.

HTMA Profile 2: Lab Test and Complete Interpretation

This profile includes the complete Multi-Element Laboratory Assay provided in Profile I, plus a thorough interpretation that reviews significant mineral levels and ratios and provides pertinent information related to the patient's metabolic rate, energy levels, autonomic balance, basic dietary guidelines and a complete dietary supplement programme designed to assist in balancing body chemistry.

HTMA Profile 3: Lab Test and Supplement Recommendations only

This profile includes the complete Multi-Element Laboratory Assay provided in Profile I, plus a complete dietary supplement programme designed to assist in balancing body chemistry.

HTMA Profile 4: Progress Test and Comparisons Analysis

This profile includes the complete Multi-Element Laboratory Assay provided in Profile I, plus a thorough 12-15 page interpretation that evaluates any significant changes in the patient's biochemistry. A detailed comparison of current mineral levels and ratios with previous test results and modifications to the dietary supplement programme.

 Personalised Transition Diet Plan

This provides a personalised transition dietary plan based entirely on your hair tissue mineral analysis results. This 22-25 page report includes three complete transition diets, menu plans and a wealth of information covering food preparation, eating habits, modifying one's habits, cooking, shopping and other valuable information.

This report is based on your HTMA report, so it is an addition to the HTMA profiles. Do not order this report without including the HTMA.

Ordering your supplements

Your HTMA report will include lifestyle, dietary and supplement recommendations. If you live in New Zealand you may order from us, either a 30-day, a 60-day or a 90-day supply of the specific vitamins and minerals that the laboratory or Gary Moller recommends for you. All you have to do is email us a list of what you need and we'll do the rest.

Do I need to have a Consultation with Gary Moller?

Although these HTMA reports are sufficient guidance for most people, and everybody holds the key to their healing, sometimes they need extra help and guidance. That's where having a consultation with Gary Moller comes in. As an experienced Natural Health Practitioner, Gary helps to interpret your test results and refine your therapy. He works with you to restore health and vitality and to maintain this for life.

The consultation fee is for 1.5 hours with Gary, in person or by Skype or Zoom and includes access by email to his ongoing advice and guidance for the following three months.

(While these HTMA reports and recommendations are comprehensive and intended to economically serve most people's needs, some need more of a personal touch. If you feel you are one of these people, you may book a consultation with Gary).

However, if you are unsure what to do or which package is best for you, including whether or not to include a consultation with Gary, first message him via this website and tell him about your health concerns and what you hope to achieve. Then he'll recommend the best way forward for you. All in confidence, of course!

Learn more about HTMA

Hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA) is a fabulous forensic screening test that measures the mineral content of your hair. However, a hair tissue mineral analysis is much more than a test for nutritional and toxic minerals: It is the key to living a long, healthy life that is enjoyable and productive! It takes most of the guessing out of nutritional therapy.

The two buttons below take you to the resources of ARL Laboratories and HTMA Experts, respectively. Each site has a wealth of information about hair tissue analysis and how it relates to nutrition, toxins and - ultimately - enduring health and fitness:
