Order a HTMA Test

Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) identifies mineral deficiencies, excesses and toxicities.  HTMA is a powerful tool to help understand possible root causes of many chronic and age-related health issues, including poor athletic performance.
Hair Tissue
Taking most of the guessing out of nutrition by understanding what is going on deep within your body.

You can't do anything to alter your age, gender or genetics that account for about 10% of disease; however, you can do a lot about the remaining 90%.

Your body has an innate and powerful desire to move towards a healthy state of being and to remain there despite the constant ravages of living and ageing.  My job is to nurture and support this in the people who seek our services.

You can begin to address the 90% of "controllable" factors by using the latest in HTMA nutrient testing which then guides the process of restoring the delicate balance of thousands of nutrients that have a huge influence on your health - right now and for the duration of your life.  The HTMA is the most useful tool we have for identifying one's exposure to toxins such as lead, mercury and even uranium.

Gary Moller is a highly skilled interpreter of the Interclinical Laboratories HTMA.  He is the manager of Interclinical Laboratories (NZ).  His main role nowadays is teaching and mentoring health professionals such as doctors, nutritionists, herbalists and naturopaths how to use the HTMA in the clinic.

What is modern Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA)?

The hair sample that you submit to Interclinical Laboratories ends its long journey at a dedicated testing facility in the USA where it is prepared through a series of chemical and high temperature digestive procedures. Testing is performed using highly sophisticated detection equipment similar to that on the NASA Mars Rover (Curiosity) to measure the mineral makeup of the Martian soil and to search for any signs of life. This technology, unlike any other, enables the laboratory to supply the most accurate and precise measures of the mineral content of your hair.

These accurate reports rely upon the health professional who is sitting in front of you and their ability to interpret the findings and apply them to your special and unique circumstances.  Please ensure that your health professional is thoroughly trained in the use of the Interclinical HTMA.

Two important points to bear in mind:

  1. The HTMA report is complex to interpret and easily confused.  It takes several courses and many years of practice for a Practitioner to fully understand the ins and outs of the test, including its traps and limitations.

  2. The Interclinical HTMA is not a diagnostic test.  It identifies the trace mineral patterns, toxicities, deficiencies and excesses that may be associated with a health problem, or in the case of a healthy person, to anticipate future health issues.

It is essential that you employ the services of a qualified and experienced adviser to ensure the correct interpretation of your results - as they apply to you and your specific health and fitness needs.

Which HTMA is the one to order?

Note: All HTMA are sold with a consultation.

Comprehensive and First-Time Test with Consultation

The multi-element assay of hair (36 elements) is performed by InterClinical Laboratories (Australia).

Your 10-15 page comprehensive report from the laboratory includes the following:

  • Copy of test results showing a computerized bar graph of high, low and reference range levels of the 36 elements listed below, including 8 toxic heavy metals. Also a graphic illustration of essential mineral ratios and important toxic ratios.

  • A complete individualized evaluation and detailed discussion of the patient's metabolic type, current mineral levels and ratios, and their impact upon body chemistry.

  • Recommendations of specific foods and food groups, along with an explanation of why each food is suggested.

  • Supplement recommendations based upon age, sex, metabolic type, mineral patterns and specific need as seen on the tissue mineral analysis and other accompanying clinical test data.

This is the one to order for the first time.  Gary will spend one hour or more explaining the report, as it applies to YOU and he will recommend what action to take.

Follow-Up Test with Consultation

This report is a follow-up to the Comprehensive Test, usually six months later. You order this one when repeating the test for the second, third or fourth time.

It is highly informative. It compares current and previous test results, providing grounds for a comprehensive discussion and revised personalised therapeutic recommendations.

Gary will explain the report and your programme will be adjusted accordingly.

Maintenance Test with Consultation

The most basic of the three Hair Tissue Mineral Analyses.

This an easy-to-read, graphic illustration of the patient's Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis test results for at least 36 essential and toxic minerals, including reference ranges. This may be recommended after having repeated the HTMA a number of times.

Gary will spend another half to one hour reviewing the report and making further adjustments to your programme.
